The one moment where I do think the studio reigns supreme is the moment when the keyboard solo cuts into the guitar solo (at least I think that's what's happening - at 6:05 into the studio version) - it's very subtle, but it's a little tighter there than in the live version.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22345387.post-61962343578880246962007-05-13T10:58:00.000-04:002007-05-13T10:58:00.000-04:00Mmmm... When I was a youth it always kind of scared me, for some reason. I'd like to hear that one again. "Walking across the sitting room, I turn the television off..." Cool story about the Reading Festival. Sounds like fun.Emmetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09887578369365842959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22345387.post-23861247799482098362007-04-11T06:06:00.000-04:002007-04-11T06:06:00.000-04:00Personally I think "Supper's Ready" was the highpo...Personally I think "Supper's Ready" was the highpoint of the original Genesis (I never liked much that they did after Gabriel left). Saw them do it live at Reading Festival in the early 70s - outstanding.Private Beachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17655349659024692101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22345387.post-18311701269695925422007-04-06T15:16:00.000-04:002007-04-06T15:16:00.000-04:00Hey ss, thanks for the comment, and thanks for the...Hey ss, thanks for the comment, and thanks for the endorsement of the live version. I spent a dark night of the soul trying to decide which version to post. I ended up liking PG's singing more on the live version so that was the deciding factor. I agree, parts of the studio version are better (like the very beginning, e.g.)Emmetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09887578369365842959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22345387.post-81044861154316278542007-04-05T14:17:00.000-04:002007-04-05T14:17:00.000-04:00I think this is officially my favorite song of all...I think this is officially my favorite song of all time. You're right, the ending is incredible, gives me chills every time. Good call on the Live version. There are certain aspects of the studio version I prefer, but overall this one is probably superior.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22345387.post-88497425865562812012007-04-05T07:09:00.000-04:002007-04-05T07:09:00.000-04:00"Ah.
