The "original" D...some clarification .... The "original" Duffy's Bar & Guest House was on Creque Alley - roughly above the now Parrot Deli. It was owned by Hugh Duffy ... Tim Duffy (his son) and my late husband originated Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook. Tim grew up in Charlotte Amalie, and yes the M&P got their sound together here in STT. Johnny Cash also played at Duffy's. It was a STT institution in the 60's. The M&P guitar in the Rock & Roll Hall of fame belonged to Tim as a kid. When Denny Dogherty's guitar broke he asked Tim if he could have his!
