those Dave songs from 1966 to 69 were stupendous all. Then along with the kinks, he lapsed into Suckdom.

I believe kinks 66-8 were equals of beatles, certainly blew the Who away. Then Ray davies became a narcissistic dandy bore, and lost his muse forevermore.

This is a great song.

I actually think some of the later stuff is great, including Long Distance and who knows what else. But of course I'm old enough to be Adam's dad (and, in fact, am).

Hey Dad, thanks for the comment! I think you guys are BOTH right. The Kinks were awesome in their later period, AND they sucked! Watch this space for some Misfits/Low Budget-era Kinks in the months to come...

That's an epic B-side, I agree that Kinks 66-70 were very great, but had many other great patches too. They certainly make my top 5 in GBOAT discussions.
