Funkadelic:
Standing on the Verge of Getting It On
Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts (pt. 1)

from the album Standing on the Verge...

"Standing on the Verge..." is a work of genius, a pocket symphony with a slightly lopsided groove that would be awfully hard to get out of a drum machine. Not that there's anything wrong with drum machines. (By the way I'm using The Captain's vinyl rip for this. Thanks, Captain.)

"Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts": featuring Eddie Hazel on public saxophone

  2. Indeed. It's my birthday today, and i am in fact "Standing on the Verge of Getting It On", so nice one, Emmett. Excuse the shameless self publicity - i am clearly soliciting well-wishings, it would seem! Another year, another sneer...

  4. Thanks, Mike. Make mine a tall Jack Daniels! Unfortunately, the order of the day here is Dark Navy Rum (for the time being, at least)!

  8. Emmett: thanks, bro! And god save me from overly eager women - albeit much-loved and genuine - who find it hard to circumnavigate the technilaties ( such as they are ) of entering an identity when posting a comment!

  10. Of course i love you, man... I simply meant Rosa has an annoying habit of hitting the wrong keys!!! She meant (i think) to say she loves ME...

  12. I hope Rosa found you through ArtDecade. I keep telling Emmett that we should be transitioning this 'business' into a singles site. This music theme just isn't paying for itself.
