Hoagy must've recorded this dozens of times in his life so it's difficult to suss which version this is. From the liner notes: "(Stardust) first saw the light of day in 1927 as an up-tempo piano solo... one of the three all-time best sellers in sheet music form... Its real success came in 1931 when Mitchell Parish slowed the tune down and added lyrics."<BR/><BR/>I like the ghostly image of the whistling you can hear before the whistling starts.
