Missed this when it was first posted. Confused me too, since although i've got Isaac hayes Stax LP on vinyl, i haven't seen the movie for some time and i don't recall ever hearing this ska take on it.
From what i can scavenge from the web, it may have first appeared on Trojan's "Tighten Up!" sampler series from the early 70, but i could well be wrong.
Was it ever released as on 45 ?
