Prophetic Band: Ainsi Parla Zarathoustra [1973]

I'm very much in favor of what the bass player and drummer are doing here. This is the second cover version of Deodato's Zarathustra we've played so far (see here for the bossanova version). Don't be surprised if that number climbs in the weeks to come. In fact, if you're sitting on a great version of this, Phish or otherwise, feel free to tell us about it, or better yet send an mp3.

The Portsmouth Sinfonia owns this particular piece.

is this the same version used in the film Being There?

Hey Doug, thanks for the tip on Portsmouth Symphonia; I'm listening to it right now and clearly this is the definitive version.

Farisito -- thanks for listening. No, this is not the Being There version (that's by Deodato); it's a cover version of that version. Pretty similar though.

Deodato is bigger than the Beatles in France right now.
