Satwa: Allegro Piradissimo [1973]
For eleven January evenings in 1973, the Morroccan sitar of Lula Cortes and the 12-string of Lailson de Holanda Cavalcanti haunted the northeastern shores of Brazil. When the fire died down and the body finally cut loose the duo went their separate ways. Here is the third track from the first published independent album in Brazil.

Very nice, Big B, and thanks to your intriguing introduction i keep seeing candle-flame on rosewood listening to this. I know next to nothing about Allegro Piradissimo so clearly i will have to do some research.
The last couple of days, i've been playing a little bit of Harris Newman and Glenn Jones, John Fahey and Robbie Basho - courtesy of another blog - and it seems appropriate to keep the acoustic theme running a little longer.
The sitar here is very elegantly subdued. Are you familiar with Anouar Brahem, the Tunisian oud player ? I went through a phase a few years back, where I listened to him constantly. His recordings are like some exotic drug.

Make that Satwa. I just realized my monumental gaff, but given the time of day here, once again it's permissable to have egg on one's face !
"some exotic drug" - nice imagery ib. i will have to check out Anouar Brahem!
I'm seeing the candle-flames as well... wait a tic... now I'm seeing my girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise...
thanks for this one, Big.
