Anyone know the year? Or have an mp3 of a longer version or a dub version or Dennis Brown's "Here I Come Again"? Email us with reckless abandon if you do.
Check out www.roots-archives.com, if you haven't already, Emmett.
This appears on "Niney & Friends: Blood and fire" as tagged on the download, but from what i can gather it first appeared on "Dillinger's 14K Gold Golden Hits" in 1979, attributed to Dillinger in both role as toaster and producer - and not Winston "Niney" Williams, as credited on the 2005 "Blood & Fire" compilation.
Presumably, as a - "14K" - hit it cropped up somewhere previously, but i don't know of any solo Dillinger release on which it appeared prior to this 1979 comp. "Blood & Fire" allegedly collects tracks from 1970-1978, so if that indeed is the case, it must have appeared on an earlier collection if not as a single alone.
Hey ib, Thanks for the informative reply as always. I don't know anything about this -- I just like it and wish it was longer. I don't even technically "own" the Niney compilation so can't read the liner notes on that...
Roots Archives looks like a great site. This will be my go-to site for any roots-related enquiries going forward...
