What a good year 1969 was for Miles, and what a good year for music all round.
Overshadowed, of course, by "In a Silent Way", but this track is edgy and very cinematic. Love it.
As for the cover art - more "Pink Panther" than "Smell the Glove", i think ; if only it had worn its heart on its sleeve and gone for a let-it-all-hang-out treatment like "Electric Ladyland"... well, you can't turn back time unless you're G.I. Gurdjieff , so we'll have to live with its cheesy iconography.
