specializing in music of the "long seventies"
hi, i'm rick danko- it's pleasure to be in your living room.
I thought it was spelled Dankoe?
Yes, that clip of Danko's bass playing video from the mid 80s that Greg alludes to deserves wider circulation.Emmett, Noe, it's NOT Dankoe...I acyually do wonder about the spelling.
Danko is the Man. One of my favorite musicians of all time.
Sheridan, nice to have ya back.
saw Danko play in DC in the 80s. He was great. The late Richard Manual was up there as well. More recently, I saw an obese Danko in Chicago. He died a week later. His best solo song? "Brainwash.''
Haven't we all had Danko on the brain lately? So floppy armed, so tragic . . . he reminds me a bit of a young Sheridan Dupree.
I saw The Band, with Danko, in 1991 - or 1992 - at the *famed* Terrace Club in Stamford, CT. My 'parents for the night' got me in.hunnicutt, good to see you in the comments section! Hope the move went well.
