Todd Rundgren - Everybody's Going to Heaven

Thanks to Jude for the tip on this one. Note: I'm cutting it off before King Kong Reggae, because I'm not as into that.

Featuring Moogy Klingman on organ.

I've thoroughly enjoyed these last three selections, each in their own different ways. I'm still struggling to get back into blogging mode.

Happy new year!

Thanks for the comment, bro. Take the time you need to get back into the swing... I myself had to "re-boot" in mid-December. Happy 2K9. "Time is a stripper, doin' it just for you..."

thanks for the todd posts.

saw him at the blender on dec. 26. his band now includes charlie haden's daughter on bass.

the new album is a bit derivative (ac/dc and robin trower are some of the obvious influences) but he put on a great show and it was hard to believe he's actually 60.

too bad ol' jer couldn't make it that far....

Barney! Good to hear from you. For those interested, there's a little interview with Todd in this month's Mojo magazine. Apparently he lived off the production proceeds from Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell for like 6 years.

Crumbs, I haven't heard this since i was 'round at a schoolmates house in 1994, i thought it was horrific and told him to turn it off then. Now...its immense...i've changed...for good or bad. Nah, for good. Yeah, defo for good.

BS&CC, I'm very glad to hear you found it "immense"! Cool blog, BTW. I'm looking forward to digging thru your Dennis Wilson feature.

Heh, love "Todd" the album, but maybe for a completely different Venn diagram - the synthy, poppier stuff on there: Izzat Love?, I Think You Know, Sidewalk Cafe, A Dream Goes On Forever, etc. Dang, he was on fire back then ...

Also, per earlier thread, get "Hermit ..." if not only for "Too Far Gone." Just stunning.
