SAP was always one of the Durans best songs, but this mix is new-to-me, and I prefer it. The rhythm just comes out better in this version: it's more driving but also much less obtrusive. The original's cowbell(?) percussion doubling up then giving way to the snare all drew attention to itself in a way that was a little cloying or even pretentious given what it was. So... thanks!
Thanks for the comments, lads. Plague: I had to go back and check the original to know what percussion sounds you were referring to... I think the "cowbell" you mentioned is actually a pretentious rim-shot on the snare drum.
For the best article ever written about ther Durans search the "Cosmic Hearse" site for his article on the band. Funniest thing I have ever read published on the internet.
