Guten Appetit!

and - different to David B. singing 'Heroes/Helden' - one can actually understand the lyrics he is singing.

Glad you liked it, Ano, and thanks for the comment. When the loud vocals come in, it's very Heroesesque indeed. Gabriel's recorded a lot of versions of this song but this one's by far my fave of the ones I've heard.

I agree. app. the same vers. is on the b-side of my 7'' "Spiel ohne Grenzen". Always liked the flipside more than the other one. Especially the part when Peter all of a sudden gets r e a l l y loud (at 3'28) is pretty scary.

oh yeah and hugh

While it's interesting to hear the German version, the best version of this song is on Robert Fripp's "Exposure" album, where Gabriel's vocals are nicely married to the Frippertronics...

Also reminds us how much more interesting mainstream pop music was after punk! Can't imagine this being a Top 40 hit today!

Wow, didn't even know that version existed. Thx for the tip, Wharf. Will check it out. How many versions are there in toto??
