Charles Mingus: Adagio Ma Non Troppo [1972]

I've been listening to Let My Children Hear Music a lot as of late. I love this song - it reminds me of "Bolero", "Sketches of Spain", and the score to some unfinished epic. Dim the lights and be transported.

Where do I know that Quixote sketch from?

I definitely hear Sketches of Spain. Great track... Hey, I hear The Mission too!

Looks like Honoré Daumier...

I don't know where you know the sketch from, but it is familiar isn't it. I just can't place the context, but something popular right? It does look like a Daumier, though it's Picasso. And yeah, there is a taste of Morricone as well. The whole album is great.

The Beach Boys Surf's Up LP uses a similar image (but Quixote looks defeated in that one).

The Quixote ink sketch is by Picasso, circa 1955.
