Dear listeners: this version of Pyajamarama from The Thrill Of It All box set sounds a lot better than the version on The Best Of Roxy Music. I don't know if it's remastered or what. Also, bizarrely, there is one eighth-note missing from the last drum fill before the vocals come in. And the outro is 8 seconds longer.

Nice! And the Top40 list is interesting. Surpirsed to see The Strawbs and Focus (Two entries!) among all the typical 70s pop. But the again it's their msot famous and chart-friendly songs.

Never heard of that Beach Boys song either. Didn't know they where active in '73.

Didn't feel I made any justice with the term "typical 70s pop"

What I meant was that I'm not so surprised to see these songs at a Top40 list from the 70s.

If the songs are good or not one should decide for himself/herself.

That's a pretty great Top 40 chart. Crazy to see "California Saga" on there, and had no idea the J5 once covered "Doctor My Eyes." Gotta go dig that up now.

Thanks for your comments, Frasse & Walkathon. It'd be cool if there was a way to just "stream this chart" and hear all these songs now. I'm curious to hear that Gilbert O'Sullivan track, among others.

Here's the notorious Pan's People sync of "Get Down" from TOTP. I absolutely love this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7xHyKyoEh5Q

Very cool, Walkathon. Thanks for that! Great close-up of the white dog at the 1:57 mark.

UPDATE: Our friend Cracklin' Chimney dug up the Jackson 5 Doctor My Eyes and posted it over here:

Speakin of typos - isn't it Jackson 5ive?

Hey, Dan -- I thought it was a typo at first, too!
