The East St. Louis Gospelettes: Have Mercy On Me

Today's selection comes to us courtesy of my man DJ Wicz, who has put together a fabulous compilation of '70s gospel entitled In God's Hands. See here for all the juicy details and ordering info.

Also: I'm taking a staycation this week and my main man Kool DJ SPC is coming in for relief duty. I'll be back after Labor Day. Like The Tempos said, "See you in September..."

What ever happened to the East St. Louis Gospelettes? I really love their music ("Watch Me," "Life Without God," "He's A Mighty Good God," "The Blood," etc.) from back in the day. Also, is Frances Moore (part of the Gospelettes) and the Burning Bush still singing together? Someone please let me know, if you have any information on these two groups from the past. Thanks.

I absolutely love the East St Louis Gospelettes. I met them in Columbus, Texas years ago. They had a concert there and our group opened the program. Rev Carl Evans was the sponsor. I often wonder how is Francis Moore and others that were in the group. I love "Jesus Affair". Those women could sing.

Everytime I hear worship songs I feel relax and relieve. Thanks for this.
