Johanna Group:
Strange Love Action
Hors Phase

Foot-stompin' good times from Germany's Johanna Group, a collective of anonymous library musicians. Both tracks originally from the album Strange Love Action; now available on this and this respectively. (If anyone has the original LP, please feel free to post a full rip.)

Pretty insane. Until my mood changes I am going to keep listening to Odyssey.

Excellent. I have to hand it to you, Emmett; you've opened up my ears to more library music than you could shake an old school bookmark at. I'm still giving Guy Pedersen's Fuel Publishing track regular "spins" even now - though i think it's safe to say that one's hard to surpass.

I like "Strange Love Action". There's a bit too much of a Roger Waters era "Ummagumma" thing going on in "Hors Phase" for my taste - "Small Furry Animals", I mean - but ten out of ten for continuing to push the envelope.

Funny you mentioned Floyd, ib. I was hearing the influence of Piper-era Rick Wright in some of the psychedelic organ work on Strange Love Action.

BTW glad to see that sIBlingshot is thriving!

I hear the Rick Wright influence vaguely now you mention it.

Thanks. I could do with getting some kind of profile going on Hype Machine, possibly. I 'recommended' SibLINGSHOT to them a few weeks back, but to no avail. Ah, well. Global Domination is not on the agenda!

Hype Machine = Illuminati, it would seem. Or some other elitist society.

thanks for this. I've been pigging out on ambient stuff lately.

I'm hearing the full Rick Wright effect now. It's positively streaming! Good call.

Hey. There's a definite "Space Invaders" rhythmic pulse on "Strange Love Action" which I only just noticed. Very nice.
