To answer your question, yes, this is the band that T. Rex drummer Bill Legend was in before he was in T. Rex (and from which he took his apt moniker) - although Bill isn't on this song.

Excellent. Thanks for this vintage sample, Emmett; I'm more familiar with Mickey's association with Stiff Records in the late 70's. Haven't heard this previously, I don't think.

Very glad you liked it, ib. The album cover shown above is apparently from a limited edition compilation, released on Stiff in the late '70s, of Mickey's earlier work.

Ha! That's what I get for being anal...

I had a compilation freebie on Stiff through "Sounds" - a music weekly popular in the UK in the period - which featured a couple of contemporary recordings of Mickey's, in addition to Rachel Sweet and Lene Lovich, etc. This would have been after Jake Riviera left to set up Radar Records with Elvis Costello, leaving Stiff under Dave Robinson's control. Not Stiff's finest era, in essence.
