The Roches - Hammond Song

Big thanks to Greg for featuring this one on his female folk mix. Produced by Robert Fripp, with Frippertronics invading at the 2:11 mark.

You'd be OK if you'd just stay in school...

And the Frippertronics re-invade at 4:00! Just perfect. Fantasy 7" with Daryl Hall's 'The Farther Away I Am' as B-side.

Glad you liked it, everybody. Ely: that would be a great 7". I wonder what other gems are out there in R. Fripp's production discography?

I also really liked Terry Hall/The Colour Field's cover, sometime late 80's...it's on Youtube

Good Call, anoymous! I had forgotten the Colourfield Vers., which comes close to the oRIGINAL.

I remember that Terry Hall was harshly bashed by parts of the Media for disbanding FB3 only to go on with a new outfit that was producing 'easy listening'. Wrongfully, I daresay! For 'The Hammond Song' isn't a bad choice to cover.
