Jesus Acosta & The Professionals: Also sprach zarathustra [1977]
Jesus Acosta & The Professionals: Mambo en sax [1977]
Jesus Acosta & The Professionals: Rio Ontario [1977]

This album was very difficult to track down on the Internet and will probably be for sale on eBay by the end of the week. Rio Ontario ought to be in somebody's student film.

Thanks for sharing this, Mike. I tried to get to this earlier today, but i had some problems with dropped server connections.

I get you on the film student thing, i think - i could easily imagine Quentin Tarantino purloining "Rio Ontario" for a movie project.

The Professionals are an oddity, for sure - the jury's still out, but i think the verdict may well be firmly in their favour. Covet it.

Hey ib... I think the jury is still out. Emmett knows the name of the album. I left it at his apartment, as he has the gadgets to record MP3s from vinyl. The rest of the album is categorized by the associated dance. There is some pretty horrible, off-key singing on one or two tracks, but other tracks come together nicely.

I don't know what to make of it. I suppose it was a good purchase, but this morning I'm going to listen to Tapes 'n Tapes before I listen to The Professionals.

One day when I put together a movie though I am going to pull out the Professionals.

I'd like to see that movie.

Speaking of off-key singing, if you haven't heard "Bob & Gene"'s lost 1967 album rescued on Daptone, then check it out on Ear Fuzz.

Gems and truffles. For what it's worth, I think the Professionals album is definitely something you might want to hang on to.
