Hi Emmet,

Just when I was beginnig 2 fear that you had got lost on a permanent hiatus, this wonderful comeback!

Lots of beautiful stuff with a "golden brown" (in a stranglers sense) feeling that fits perfectly with the Indian Summer we have here today on the other side of the big pond.

I'm honestly thinking of downloading the whole playlist on my Mp3 player, leaving my office, buying a bottle of wine and hitting the next bench in the park to enjoy the music and the sunshine....

U c that u r seriously corrupting my working ethos.

anonymus 2.

P.S.: Especially loved the DC-Track.

Thanks very much for the comments, guys!

Greg: glad you liked the Ken P. I'm supposed to be getting it on vinyl but it may be lost in the mail. We'll see. I hear what you're saying about Alice Cooper & Pavement. Falsetto, multisyllabic herky jerky vocals in unison with a frantic guitar line = Malkmus. Check out e.g. Folk Jam "beware the head of state says that she believes in leprechauns." Props to my boy Ted (Gay Beach on East Village Radio) for the tip on that song.

Bobby: Thanks for the comment! Yeah, just found out about this OG version of After Midnight myself. Had to spend some of my hard-earned pay to get the 45. Apparently only released as a promo? (Liberty 55931)

Anonymus: Good to hear from you! By all means, execute on the plan you've described! Sadly in America it's not legal to drink in parks! :)

P.S. I can't upload that Julianne Werding song. It's simply too weird. But I bet you can find it somewhere out there...

I can't agree more with Anon 2's post... and Emmett I have some good news! Lately I have been delighted to witness many people drinking wine along the Hudson River up in the 90s and 100s. They don't do it in the upper paryt of Riverside Park, but in the smaller part, along the river. So you can drink wine, stare at the sunset, get mugged on your way back to your apartment after dark. I've seen the fuzz roll by these impromptu watering holes, and just keep on rolling. It is now easier to drink in NYC than it has been since the fascist Guiliani first conned the electorate into voting for him.

Well, that settles it. I'm off to 103 & Riverside with a thermos of martinis! Look for me on your way home tonight...

half way through and loving it...

Good evening, Sheridan. Something tells me this playlist isn't the only thing you're halfway through tonight...

Ha, you're right of course. I'm just about half way through Finnegan's Wake as well...

Suspicions confirmed. ;)
